Adding a soft close system to your barn door hardware set makes your sliding door system smoother, quieter, and more refined. Hidden from view behind the track, this system gently slows the door during the final stage of travel so it closes/opens softly without banging or bouncing.

The clamp-on bracket version is designed for installations where the standard pre-drilled soft close mounting holes on the back of the track cannot be used, such as when an additional track fixing is required between the pre-drilled holes. The bracket clamps onto the base of the track, allowing the soft close mechanism to be installed without relying on the pre-drilled soft close fixings on the back of the track. This provides greater flexibility when positioning track fixings. The trigger mounted on top of the door determines where the door stops, provided the soft close unit is installed within the vicinity of the trigger engagement point. A minimum of 360mm clearance between track fixings is required to allow installation of the soft close mechanism.

This system automatically catches the trigger mounted on the top of the door and activates the spring-loaded damper, smoothly pulling the door into its final position. The result is a controlled, quiet closing action that improves safety and overall usability.

We recommend using a soft close system for doors that are used frequently. It is especially useful in homes with children, or where a quieter operation is preferred.

Compatibility

• Suitable for our flat track sliding barn door systems
• Face mounted hangers only, top mounted hangers are not compatable.
• Designed for doors up to 80kg

Important Notes

• Not compatible with top mounted hanger styles without adjustments.
• Lightweight hollow core doors may not always activate the soft close mechanism effectively.
• If your door is in the upper limits of the weight rating or you expecting the system would need more durability than a regular system we would recommend using the Heavy Duty Soft Close System.
• The grey version has been made for Stainless steel hardware, the triggers are stainless steel, but the clamps are powder coated grey.
